Updated almost 8 years ago,
New to this world from Houston Texas.
Hello all. My name is Joshua and I just found out about the world of real estate. All of it seems so interesting and exciting. I would love to learn as much as I can about it from as many people as I can.
A little about myself and what I hope to achieve:
I'm 23 years old and I'm at a job I don't wanna be. I have been married and divorced (just recently) and iv just been going through the motions. I also have a 16 month daughter that means the world to me. After months of living in sadness due to the divorce, I decided that I wasn't goin to live my life in despair.
I attempted to start my own car painting company with my cousin. As a lot of people will tell you, don't do business with family. To him it was a hobby, a side thing that wasn't that important to him. He told me if it didn't work out, it just doesn't work out. I will not live my life like that. I know very well without a doubt that if something I do such as my own business or company depends on my determination. Things don't just not work out. I can do anything I set my mind to. I know it. Long story short we decided to no longer continue with it, we no longer talk at the moment. I myself would love to paint cars, but it's on hold at the moment. When me and my wife separated I moved back in to my mom apartment. I have no garage so I have to wait on that.
That's when I found out about the world of real estate. I work in construction and I don't want to be digging holes for the rest of my life. My mom has worked at Walmart for 27 years and is un happy with her job. The government takes a part of my check for child support. I have no problem with that, but I hardly have any money for myself, all the while my ex-wife is getting tattoos, buying expensive clothes and spending it on unnecessary things.
I want to get the financial freedom to not have to worry about the little things. To be able to tell my mother she can quit her job because I'll take care of her. To tell my daughter to pick any collage she wants and not have to worry about money. To be able to give money to my ex-wife and not be worried about what she spends it on.
I have read a couple article, watched some videos, and listen to some podcast. if anyone is interested in hearing what I already know or how I plan to get to the financial freedom feel free to ask. Any tips and advice is greatly appreciated.
Thank you all.
