POLL - How Did You Come to Own Your First Rental Property?

I'm interested in learning something about BiggerPockets' users, and thought that you all might be interested as well. How do investors come to own rental property? While I'm sure that many methods are used, what are some of the typical ones?

So - if you own property, I'd ask that you answer the following poll about how you came to possess your first rental (landlords please, not flippers, this time):

I did this super quickly, so pardon the "easy polls" layout. But, if people are interested and like this, I'm sure we can make this more of a regular thing!

Please include feedback on this very first, quick test, whether you find it interesting, and what additional polls you might be interested in seeing in the future!

Also - share your stories! Would love to hear about how you came to possess your first property!

If you vote "other" - that could mean poor design on my part - I want to make sure to include all the major categories, so let me know if I missed any!

I married Satan back in 2007. After the divorce, she kept the house. Later on she walked away from the house and the mortgage payments and stuck me with it. I guess Hell had better real estate in a warmer climate.
I asked my real estate agent what my options were. His property management company handled the rest and I became a landlord. I have since acquired 2 more properties and am looking for more!
Thanks Satan!!!
