Site Question - why is this site so slow?

This site is very slow for me. Is there any reason for this?

Here's what I am sporting for a connection:

Since I've been a member this site seems to load 'slowly' for me, too. Wish I was more of a computer expert to say why.

FWIW, I timed how long it takes me to load the pages I frequent most:

10 seconds to load biggerpockets.com/dashboard.

14 seconds to load 'Posts since last visit'.

14 seconds to load page 2 of 'Posts since last visit'.

14 seconds to load page 3 of 'Posts since last visit'.

5 seconds to load a topic.

5 seconds to load page 2 of that same topic.

7 seconds to return to page 1 of that same topic.

10 seconds to return back to 'Posts since last visit'.

I always figured it was massive traffic but If you have any suggestions for speeding up my end I'd appreciate it.
