Will - A press release on BP is like one submitted anywhere else, so there are no specific rules about posting them. Yes you can link back to your website or blog, but we do charge to make those "live" links. You'll see info about that on the press release submission page. The whole point of a press release is to promote a product, service, company, etc., so yes, you can promote a product or service. Here's an article with more info on writing a good press release.

once I officially release my e-book I'll be submitting a press release here on BP about it. As great as the blogs and articles help with google it's a no-brainer for me. I would like to see if there is anyway we(and by that I mean Josh LOL!!) can somehow get more exposure to it from the current BP members. I know for myself I never see any PR's but I do see a tab at the top for blogs and articles etc... maybe an additional tab if there is room?

Is there a place where I can find rules for submitting a press release? Can I have a link back to my website or blog, etc included inside the release? Can I advertise a product or service in it?

I fixed the title (only admins can do that . . . we had people doing some bad things to threads, so we've eliminated the ability to edit a title) for you.... As for press releases, they will show up on the friend feed of all members who you are colleagues with. Additionally, the newest will appear on the front page of the Articles directory, and obviously in the press release directory. Additionally, the feed to our press releases has been submitted to several engines for exposure. A press release is essentially a great way to issue news regarding your business/company. Here's the wikipedia definition. Over the past several years, they have become popular for smaller businesses to build links to their site to build their website's presence.

Can someone tell me how the press realeses work. Who are the realeses sent to, just my collegues or some larger group? And give me some ideas on how I can use them.

I ment Press "RELEASE." And while you're at it can you tell me how to edit a post title.
