How to find the @username?

Hey, I get how to use the @mention feature - when someone is already in a thread. But what if they aren't and you want to mention them? How do you figure out what to type for the username? From the URL on a user's profile page?

Thanks!

@Scott Babcock , if they aren't in the thread, you have to be colleagues with them already.  If you are, then just start typing their name after the @ symbol.
