Colleague Requests - No Message

Being newer to the BP community - I wanted to ask a quick question: What is everyone's thoughts on college requests without a message included?

I like the idea of growing my network, but I personally want to make sure I have an individualized message when I send those requests. However, I have received a few colleague requests without any message at all. I just wanted to see what the general thoughts on the matter were.

On other networks, I only accept requests from people who take the time to personalize their message.  I see sending requests without one as being cold and impersonal.
