Notifications “errors” (need 3rd word to post so here it is.)

I get emails saying I have notifications. (New votes on posts, mentions, etc…). But when I come to BP there are no notifications marked a new. But…there are new notifications. (I can see they anre only 30 or 45 minutes old.). 

So, long story short. I get emails of new notifications. But when I come to look at them they’ve already been marked as if I’ve actually read the posts. (Since simply looking at my new notifications doesn’t erase their “new” status. It thinks I’ve actually clicked on each new notice. .)
