Complete rehab vs. rebuild

Purchased a single family to flip in Westfield ma, the bones are good but everything else needs to be stripped. I bought the house for the same amount it would cost to get a plot of land in the same area. Every contractor that has visited the property has suggested tearing it down and building something new. They claim that it will take more work to try and bring it to life then to just build something completely new. However the situation is a little time sensitive being that I’ve had the property for a couple months already. Just wanted to get an honest perspective outside of someone that will potentially make money off of me. Any feedback is greatly appreciated .
