Asbestos Roof Removal and Replace

Has anyone bought a rental property that had an asbestos roof? Did you need to have it removed? If so, what does that typically cost? I’m in the upstate NY area and looking into a house that has an older asbestos roof and before I come up with an offer I’d like to understand these costs a little more. Thank you!
