1st Homebuyer - How to choose a General Contractor in Las Vegas?

Hi there, just bought my first home in las Vegas. There are some small things that I would like to hire a general contractor for.

- Drywall, painting, knocking out a few walls around the home, and installing a shower.

However, I wanted to reach out to see how one would go about choosing a general contractor?

Any do’s or don’t that I need to know?

Feel free to cover any basics that you think one should already know lol
