GC wanted: Large building to convert into Multifamily units

Hello Everyone,

I am in Jacksonville, FL and came across a large property (2,8XX square feet) that is able to be converted into up to 4 units to rent out. The set up seems to lend itself easily to being 3 units.

I already know the building needs a new roof and likely some foundation work.

I am looking for a general contractor in my area who is familiar with undertaking this kind of conversion to find out what sort of budget and timeline we would be looking at.

From reading other threads, the zoning seems to be the biggest hurdle. According to the seller, the zoning is already being changed. And then there is everything entailed in setting up the electrical, plumbing, and HVAC for each unit.

Thank you for your help ☺
