203K Contractor in Charleston, South Carolina

Just curious of why some states require a contractor to be 203K Certified. 

We have worked with several clients in Chaleston South Carolina and we are fortunate that we are not required to be certified. Each institution is different but we work with loandepot who has their own approval process. They require License, Experience, Insurance, Financial Stability, Etc.
