Rotted Girder, Sill, Joists
BP,
I would like to know what some of you have done with a house that needed all new girders and joists. Specifically, what are the benefits/cost comparisons for putting in all new wood vs. pouring a slab. There is no way to simply sister the joists, a flood from a burst pipe led to all the wood being rotted.
Also, if anyone has done this in the metro Detroit area, what structural engineers did you use, if any, and what contractors to complete the work?
