Hardwood Floor Refinishing in the Philadelphia Area

I usually do this job myself, but with the first child due any day now and me being in full-time-W2-high-school-teacher mode until June I figured I'd hire this one out.

A good friend of mine referred me to him and his floors came out great with a great price so I gave them a call.

The results were fantastic and they were done in ONE DAY, floors ready to walk on 24 hours after the final coat. They don't use two coats of poly, rather, they use one coat of a "sealer" that really soaks up into the wood once its been sanded. After the sealer coat they buff/sand again because the sealer raises the grain considerably.

The sealer coat dries in about 30 minutes, so after sanding again they apply the only coat of polyurethane. That takes the 24 hours to dry.

Their big machine hooks up directly to your electrical panel. These guys are FAST and they clean up pretty good too.

For two medium sized rooms (bedroom and livingroom) I paid $816. It was $375 per room +$30 for a patch job that came out great, + the rest for some "saddle" pieces that replaced some old metal pieces of threshold.
