Mold Remedaition QUetsion

Posted

We recently had our home tested for mold. We had an air quality test done and a tape test. The air quality test came back clean, but there is a spot about 1 ft by 1ft on the ceiling of our unfinished basedment that came back as having penecillium. The company recommended that the entire basement be treated and the house be fogged. Is this necessary for a relatively small spot of mold that hasn't yet affected air quality, or could we DIY treat this spot, run a dehumidifier and check regularly for mold growth?
