Mold Remediation? Anyone have to deal with this !!?

We were told we have mold in our basement and got 1 quote for mold remediation and it came back at $5,500. This included labor and material. I will add the quote to the post below. Has anyone gone through removing mold from one of their properties?? This is for the basements of a duplex and a SFR behind it. So this is a quote for 2 basements. Any tips I should know. Is removing black mold from the basement a high priority in most cases?

 this price seems absurd. It's a basement rip it out, wash it all down, move on. MORE important question. Why did it grow? Why did you allow it to spread so much? Where is the water coming from? Stop the leaks, install window vents and or humidifier I have done dozens of jobs like this.
