Ohio - EV Charging Turnkey Provider
Hello Everyone!
I just wanted to introduce myself and see if I could help with any questions about electric vehicle charging, my name is Michael Kay and my company is SkyCharge Energy. We're located in Columbus, Ohio but service the entire state. We provide assistance with EV charging planning, site design, software/equipment selection, engineering/permitting, full in-house installation, and maintenance for EV charging. We've been doing EV charging for about 4 years and previously were a division of an electrical contractor that has been in business for 55+ years. We're a licensed and bonded electrical contractor.
With that intro out of the way, we're putting a heavy focus on charging solutions for multifamily. We believe that this is not only one of the most important markets for the adoption of EV's since 85% of all charging is done at home but also one that is largely being ignored by incentive programs in favor of focusing on highway charging. There is so much misinformation out there and a lot of companies that are leading property owners and managers down a path with EV charging that won't scale and will lead to higher costs down the road.
I'd be very interested from hearing from any of you about your thoughts on charging at multifamily and what your plans are? We're currently working with several organizations to develop best practices around EV charging and trying to develop cost-effective solutions for property owners and tenants, that will also make economic sense for company's like ours and charging network operators.
There are a lot of misconceptions about the EV industry and charging as a whole, we're currently working a series of informational material to help improve awareness around EV charging and help property owners/managers navigate through what can be a confusing process.
Please feel free to share anything about your experience with EV charging and feel free to ask me any questions!
