Tips on Hard Money Lending

I’m considering to become a Hard Money Lender and I would like to hear some experienced Hard Money Lenders, see if they could share some tips.

I have some ideas but I would love to hear from you:

1- how much do you borrow?

2- do you ask for past references? And how as many do not have reviews

3- what rates do you give?

4- what type of contract?

5- do you get a lawyer?

6- any other tips are welcome!

Thanks a lot for your time!
