House Hack FHA/Business Partner
Situation: My friend and I want to invest in real estate together we are both willing to house hack. We would like to use FHA loans so we do not have to come up with a significant down payment for investment property. We are fine with moving into the home and taking occupancy for a year as most FHA loans require. We would each like to do this so we can obtain more "doors" quicker.
Question: Is there a way we can do this together and each have separate FHA loans, occupy the houses, but still be in this together i.e. Legally responsible for the mortgage, both be on the deed, enjoy the tax benefits of real estate etc... Thoughts on structure and how to make it work would be most helpful.
P.S. we have identified two properties already and have made an offer on the first property.
