Non Financeable??
My uncle is currently trying to refinance one of his rentals that has two units on one property.(Like brandon's Kurt Cobain house) The bank that he is financed threw now told him they won't refinance him because he is non financeable even though he is looking to put over $100k down. This isn't the only bank that has told him this.
Why is he non financeable and what can he do to refinance?
Thank you in advance!!

I'm guessing it's something simple like zoning or something... if there's anything to it.
One thing I've done on the last few refi's and a 4-plex purchase is go through a mortgage broker. I'm not sure how he's done it, but I've gotten by with only an appraisal, not an inspection. It's hurt me though, because there were some things an inspector would have caught, that I missed.
