Financing a REO Flip

Other than Private funding, what's the best way to fund a flip? I'm new to flipping and will most likely find my first opportunity on the MLS. I'm hoping to kick-off my direct mail campaign in the near future to hopefully secure some good deals. My biggest concern is how to finance the flip once I find the right property. Should I get pre-qualified with a hard money lender? I have good credit and funds set aside for a down payment.
