LinkedIn Lending Leads - Scams or Opportunities?

Question for you.

A guy reaches out on LinkedIn. "We represent private lenders, let me know if you need funding for your next investment".

A few weeks later, I needed funding for my investment. So I reached out.

They came back with an incredible rate - 4%!

I was sure it was a scam. It didn't help that their website was poorly created with illegible rants, stock photos and no real faces.

So I quashed my burning desire to turn the clock back by a year and I moved on.

A few days later, another LinkedIn came back. You guessed - 5.5%!

Are these scams? Or are there actually lenders out there desperate enough to offer these rates in this market?

I really want to get a good rate, but I don't want to deal with identity theft right now :)
