ADU New construction Financing SB( - southern California

Johnny Reber
Posted

Hey All,

Looking at start my next ADU project on my personal property out in Ventura. I am looking for a Lender that does construction financing. I am using SB9 to build the unit as a duplex in my backyard. I worked for a commercial general contractor for 10 years and am now with an estate builder.

Interesting to see who people are using for construction lending and what products are available out there. Currently wrapping up the architectural and structural drawings to submit to the city and then will be able to provide a solid budget with backup. Cost of construction for the units is going to be roughly in the 450K range.

@Johnny Reber..in my humble experience in providing construction loans in this space and have for the last at least 6+ years, you're going to be running up a wall finding financing if you don't go private.  Even my bankable clients these days usually choose to go private money over conventional or that type just due to less red-tape and more flexibility.  Just my $0.02  Good luck!
