What was your first experience with a private lender?

I am a 16 year old high school kid who has been learning about the game of investing in Realestate for about two years now and I wanted to have some feedback on your experience using other peoples money (OPM). How do you suggest to build up their trust especially for young guy like me with a small track record? Any tips on how I can be to the advantage and what was your first experience and story like with this subject?
