Consulting with Other Agents Clients

I own a short term rental vacation rental management company, we are the largest operator in our area with about 50 listings under management.  With this experience, I have a ton of knowledge about STRs and property performance that is fairly niche to my market.

With this knowledge, I have been helping prospective investors / clients in choosing where and which properties to buy to maximize returns or meet their goals with their investments.  I enjoy this type of consulting and have really been happy to help just to acquire new clients and continue to grow.

Where this gets a little messy is I've chosen to take real estate exam and get licensed in order to buy/sell our own properties & investments, but also to assist a few clients who specifically requested I get a license so I can help them buy directly (rather than thru other agents).

My question is whether I can legally still offer this type of consulting to other agents clients once I'm licensed?  The instructor of the RE coursework suggested that advising another agents client on matters related to real estate was not allowed.  I'm assuming because we wouldn't want to have any blurring of lines or questions as to who's got the agency / client relationship.  That being said, I'm really not interested in taking another agents commission and happy to assist on the front end if they are planning to use our management services after closing.  

Should I continue to consult other agents clients after I am licensed or is there truly a risk I am taking in doing that?
