Fail to Disclosure in Canada (Ontario)

Posted

I recently bought my first house which I thought it was a flip (that idea was sold to me) I viewed the home but nothing bad stand out. Once I took possession I started lifting floors up and taking drywall out and found out that the house had a fire, the floor on the second floor was held by a chain and to make room for the stairs they cut out 5 floor joists. Non of this issues were disclosed to me. Now my bill keeps getting bigger and bigger. From 20,000 Reno I went up to 140,000. Anyone has ever been or suit a seller? I am thinking of taking that route. Please any advise helps

Did the seller know?   Can you prove they knew?  Do they have money?

Judgements are sometimes easy to get, much harder to collect.
