As a new agent, I am doing everything I can to get off to a fast start. If you go read my recent blog posts, you’ll note that I am also doing this full time because I recently lost my job due to COVID.

I was looking to get some advice on what some of you have done that has worked really well for you for marketing.

Maybe a couple things that you would 100% recommend me do, and also some things you would strongly suggest I stay away from?

Also, if you could go back to when you first started, what is one thing that you would have changed.

Thanks in advance, just really looking to start generating some income!

Don't listen to what gurus tell you and focus on your sphere first. Read 7L: The Sevel Levels of Communication by Michael Maher and you will see how to build your sphere and connect people without spending any money advertising yourself when you don't have experience to back up the ads. Think of who your ideal client is right now (don't say anyone) and find out where they go, are there meetups where you can help connect people and not sell yourself. The best way to get business is to give value. Ask someone who has a local business if they can give you info on their business so you can send some referrals their way. They will ask you what you do. Too many new agents start thinking about spending money online when they just don't want to take what is right in front of them.
