Roadmap to becoming a realestate agent

Hello,

I would like to become a certified realestate agent.What is the road map and what courses I need to be taking.Also I would like to know if there are any advantages of being a realestate agent when selling one's own home.Appreciate your inputs.

Basically you will take your classes, take the exam, apply for your license, find a sponsoring broker.

I never recommend any to get their license just to sell their own house. It takes time, it takes money, and then you end up with no experience selling one of the most important assets of your life as an amateur. If your broker allows you to do that. I think it only makes sense to get your license if you plan to actively buy/sell and help others buy and sell. It's just too expensive to have it for fun and pay all your annual MLS dues, and other expenses to maintain your license.
