Advice for new/young RE agents
Hi BP community! Thank you for everyone who engages in the forums and answers questions for those who are in need of help and advice. I appreciate it a lot!
I'm currently taking a semester off from college and going to start working at a brokerage that focuses on working with and representing real estate investors. I have been consuming as much information and content as I can from BP and books on real estate investing, but I obviously still do not know much and do not have much work experience. What advice could you give a young/new real estate agent like me to develop leads while not having real-life experience being an agent or investing in real estate? I have a feeling a lot of people will be hesitant to work with a young guy who knows his stuff only in theory and does not have much credibility behind him.

You've gotten a lot of great advice on this thread!
To add a little, make a list of EVERYONE in your personal circle - aunts, uncles, cousins, neighbors, professors, classmates, friends, etc. - and contact them regularly. Don't talk to them like they're a cold call because they aren't. As mentioned in the other replies, this is a relationship business. As a new professional with little/no experience, your best relationships are the ones you already have. They know you, trust you (hopefully! lol) and don't care as much about your track record as someone who is a complete stranger.
Let them know you're in RE and ask them "who do you know that I can help with buying, selling or investing?".
Best of luck to you moving forward!
Abel
