Hello bigger pockets network, hope all is going well on everyone's Wednesday.

I am 20 years old and working as a mechanic at a Ford dealership, I am making about 40-45k a year so far with an opportunity to go to Fords mechanic program them after a few years be bumped up to about 70-90k a year, cars have always been a passion for me and I love working on cars but it is starting to tear my body down already and working on them everyday is making me not enjoy it as much.

Living in Cincinnati, Ohio I don't know how it would be to be a real estate agent in the area I am thinking about changing careers to become a real estate agent it is something I have been following for awhile now and was wondering if it would be a good idea to stay my path and be a mechanic or become an agent, if anyone could help me out that would be awesome.

Thank you bigger pockets network.

You said it yourself that your passion is cars.  I would highly recommend sticking with that for at least a couple more years.  Especially due to the fact you have opportunity for advancement.  In bigger cities like Cincy, I am sure there is an overabundance of real estate agents.. It is a profession with a very low barrier to entry.

If you do desire to become an agent down the road, starting laying the foundation for that move now.  Build your network and get connected with other like minded people.  As a real estate agent, over half of the business I get comes from my network.  Save money, buy a property you can live in yourself and house hack.  Lastly, keep learning and educating yourself regarding real estate so that you can eventually make the transition. Good luck, brother!
