Buying Your Own Listing
I'm in a pickle and maybe you all can help me out. I'm currently listing a mixed use building in the town I live in. I can't say much about the owner because he's my client but I want to buy his building. Numbers work, I can easily manage, and the location is 2 blocks from a college.
When should I ask him? As an RE agent, I'm bound to my fiduciary to help him sell the property but if I buy it then I technically help him sell it. Also, I have to satisfy my brokerage too, they need me to sell volume so I'm expected to sell this building.
Decisions, decisions. I'd love your feedback.
Edit: I know the process/protocol in NY when a REALTOR is interested in purchasing their client's property.
