Hello Bigger Pockets Members,

I am currently in the process of searching for my first real estate deal in Johnson County near Kansas City. Any recommendations on agents in this area? I also appreciate any advice when searching for an agent!to make sure it is the right fit. I am preapproved and ready to go when the right property comes my way.

Thanks!

Not sure if it's bad form to recommend agents on this site or not.....so I will give my two cents:

Ask the agent if they own any rentals, manage rental properties or have flipped/renovated/etc any properties. Everyone can claim they're an expert but very few have the hands-on experience to help inform their clients. Most agents will be part of 1-2 investment property deals in their career... you want to find someone that works specifically with investment properties. Good deals are hard to come by while inexperienced agents and bad investments are easy to find.
