How to Approach HR & Employees of Company Relocating
There is a company (Company A) with 200+ employees that just sold their real estate to another large company (B). Company A is reportedly going to relocate not too far from their original location - I'm guessing a 15 minute drive or even less. Company B will be relocating about the same distance. This relocation will be sometime in 2020 I understand, but it was just reported in the local news last week.
Even though the companies aren't moving that far and many employees will likely want to stay in their current residences, I'd like to take the opportunity to communicate with both companies and their employees about buying primary residences and rental investments near their new work locations. Perhaps higher-paid employees would like to buy rentals and rent primarily to other families in their company.
I have a staff list with many work phone numbers and work e-mails for both companies, so I can cold call and e-mail individuals directly. What should my e-mail message or phone script/voice mail script be?
What should I say to their HR directors, or who else in their company should I talk to?
An idea is planning an event for any employees interested to meet about buying real estate. Another idea is putting together a flyer for the HR department to give to employees about relocating and about the features of the new neighborhood the company will be moving to. I'd also like to design a flyer the HR department could give to new hires who might be relocating from another state and another flyer for retiring employees.
I have never worked for this size of company, so I don't know how they function. I don't know if they typically work with a relocation company when their new hires have to move from far away. I guess my main question is:
How can I offer value so that the HR department would like to work with me now and in the future?
