Should I become an agent?

Was wondering the opinion on the topic of becoming an agent. I live in New Jersey and our family built up a business over the last 30 years which we will be exiting hopefully soon. I’ll have some cash saved up and I know the market is hot and can cool off at any time. Does anyone think it would be a mistake entering the industry at this time? I want to start investing as well and think getting my license and starting as an agent might not be a bad transition. Thoughts are appreciated!
