Property Management Certification

Im taking the pre-licensing courses currently to obtain my real estate license. I have not yet found a broker to sponsor me. I have a question about something the course said. It says in Montana, real estate brokers and sales people do not require more education to become a property manager. They can use their license to do so. I obviously can’t obtain my license if I don’t have a broker so do I have to wait until after my first year if I wanted to manage property? Just a little confused on this part. Thanks in advance!

Chantel,

You obtain your license and during that time, find a property management company or real estate office that you would like to affiliate. Look up their online reviews, what area they specialize etc... in most states you need to work under the supervision of a Broker for a specified time frame before you can take your brokers exam and open your own brokerage
