New Agent in Brooklyn/NYC

Hello,

I'm a new agent focusing on rental properties in (Hipster-town) Brooklyn. I've joined a company and have access to their exclusive and non-exclusive listings-- but I'm unclear still if those are the ONLY properties I can show potential clients?

For example I have a friend wanting an apartment in an area we don't really focus on.

Do listing broker's share Owner-Paid fees with other brokerages?? The trend right now seems to be NO FEE (it's feb 2018). What about when the renter pays fee? Will a portion go to the listing agent and a portion to me if I bring the tenant? How do we work this out!?

Thanks,

Heather
