Becoming Real Estate Agent

Hi,

My wife recently went through the real estate class for her license. She is not looking to become a full time agent. The reason we decided it was best for her to go through the process was to help with our real estate investing.

We are looking for access to the MLS and the other financial benefits of one of us being an agent when we want we are buying, selling or wanting to look at properties.

My question is what what types of brokerage firms should she try to align herself with before taking the test? Many of the larger firms require time spent in a call center, etc. But, we arent looking to draw a large income from her working with the firm.

Thanks,

Ryan

@Ryan Zickefoose - she doesn't need to be a larger brokerage because the fees will be more and she won't need the training. To find out who is investor-friendly, drive for dollars and see who is listing investment properties that you would be interested in. There you might find an investor-friendly model and a mentor for your wife.

I wrote a blog just about this on BP. You can find it here - https://www.biggerpockets.com/blogs/10015/64388-5-steps-to-finding-an-investor-friendly-brokerage
