Technicalities of being a part-time agent in PA

Hello,

I am looking to make a career move and trying to explore all of my options, including becoming a Real Estate agent. I have been told by several agents in Pennsylvania (where I live) that you have to hang your license with a broker (I'm not sure if this is a PA requirement or pretty standard nationally). Does anyone with experience in Pennsylvania know how to meet this requirement while only being a part-time agent? I would like to consider keeping a full time job while building up a RE business on the side before jumping right in. I have been scouring job postings and cannot find anything among the big brokers in the area about working only part time. Does anyone know of any that do this and how to get on with them? Or are there other options for agents who only work part-time? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
