When should I expect to receive license?

Hello BP members! I am getting ready to take my RE state exam, I will be taking a crash course before taking the exam as well. One question I have is, when should I expect to get my RE licensed? I've heard from a friend that it takes another 2-3 months after taking and passing the state exam because of background checks? I don't see why it would take so long for a background check? I live in California so i guess it's different here ? Thank you, David

As soon as you pass the exam you'll be issued your license ID and you'll be in business to start representing clients right away. You will need to be fingerprinted as well. BRE will provide you with additional licensing requirements..

Good luck....
