New Agent Questions When Looking for a Broker

Hello BP members!

I have been browsing this site for a while and have now decided that its time to ask the community for some help.

I successfully prepared for the RE Licensing class, and passed. Now I have taken the required RE licensing exam here in Michigan and passed that as well.

I am now focused on finding a broker to sign with and start my own RE business! It’s all very exciting and seems to be happening very fast. I have met with a few brokers already, but I would like some help in trying to find the right type of questions I should be asking.

Here are the few I have come up with so far:

  • 1.What is the training schedule like? Sales vs Compliance training
  • 2.What is the commission schedule?
  • 3.Are there any desk fees or other fees?
  • 4.How many agents?

Let me know what you think of these and please help me and others in the same situation come up with more ideas. Any suggestion on ways to phrase the questions to get the information needed would be helpful as well.

Thank you! I look forward to many more posts from here on!
