Commission in Canada (specifically the Lower Mainland)

Howdy.

Anyone know how commissions are in Canada?  In the Lower Mainland with prices so high, what's the "going" rate, how much does brokerage take (on average), and is the rate flat like it is here in USA or something like:

3% for first $100,000, 2% for next $200,000, and 1% above $300,001?
