Newly licensed in FL - broker searching
Hey guys, I just got my sales associate license in FL (live in west palm beach), and I am now beginning the process of looking for a potential broker. I will be primarily doing this part-time at first (I'm also a full time pharmacist) so my situation might be a little unique in that I won't have too many days to devote right now since I work 12-hour days at my other job. But I'm definitely committed to it and I could definitely see myself transitioning into more of a full time path if all goes well.
I got my license primarily to help with finding my own deals and to lower commission costs of listing/buying. But I also find it appealing to be able to help others find/sell a home, and would like to focus on working with other investors.
I was also considering trying to find work as an assistant to a high volume agent, or another investor-agent, in order to learn the ropes.
I plan on interviewing a lot of brokers in the next few weeks, so I was wondering if anyone could provide a few tips on key points to address regarding my situation. Or do you think working under a more seasoned agent would be good for me?
FYI, I'm also in the market looking to buy my next residence, and also list my current home for rent, so I will be able to provide some instant return to the broker.
