Breaking into REO listings
I've been an agent for several years and have done my fair share of working with conventional buyers and sellers. I've done several short sales along the way too. I'm trying to expand my listing business and want to be an REO listing agent. I'm finding it incredibly hard to break into it!
I've talked with the lenders that I did short sales with and they would give me nothing by the run-around. I've tried talking to other REO agents and they keep their lips sealed because I'm viewed as a threat to their business. And, I've even registered at various sites for a fee. Supposedly those sites get your name on a list which is then reviewed whenever an REO property needs a listing agent assignment.
None of these avenues have gotten me anywhere.
What am I missing? What's the secret to break into this?! I'm more than willing and able to take on these listings and have a proven track record.
