Property Mangment - Managing without a licence

I am currently employed in Iowa as a property manager for a small company which owns all their properties.  We have been approached by several people to manage their properties, but from what I have read someone within the organization needs to have a brokers license.

Is this correct?

If so it seems like a tough rule as I don't want to sell any property just add to what I am already doing without the ownership portion.

Is there anyway around this? Besides leasing the property and then subletting it.

If not does anyone have experience with getting there license while property managing? Its seems difficult as you have to work as a sales person for two years before applying to be a broker.

Thanks much
