Greetings,

My daughter just got her license to sell real estate in Michigan. She still has a few classes to take but she now has a desk at one of the most well know brokers and is ready to get going. Problem is that she is now floundering a bit not really knowing what to do next. She used to sell cars and had a list of about 150 customers that he broker suggested she contact. She did that but now is feeling pretty much on her own. She has never worked a job where she does not have a boss who clearly spells out what her daily duties are. She is far from lazy but could use some direction. I got her a copy of the Millionaire Real Estate Investor audio book but it seemed to be a bit overwhelming to her.

Would really appreciate any advice that  could point her to on how to get started.

@Dan Graney Well if its not obvious selling cars and houses is far different. Customers don't come walking into the door when you sell real estate you have to go get them. It doesn't matter what brokerage you work for the boss isn't going to spoon feed you leads. With real estate you are really on your own. My best suggestion is that she talks to other agents in the office and offer to do open houses for any of them that will allow it on their listings. This is a good way for her to get comfortable with showing houses and answering questions. Other than that she needs to get on the phone and call FSBO's and Expired listings and attempt to win them over as their agent. The easiest way to get started is to talk to all her friends and family member about her being a new agent. Most call this your sphere of influence. Making sure everyone knows you are a realtor is the most important thing.
