How do a realtor build a strong network of contractors

I'm just getting into the real estate industry and wanted to know how to build a network of contractors.  I started to use craigslist but, some of the contractors that I was getting were not as reliable.  Any help would be great.  I was thinking of looking for contractors that do a lot of kitchen and bathroom renovations since those are big ticket items (home value).

thanks

thank you guys, I'll start by asking some of the more experience real estate agents and f friends on who they would recommend. So far, I have spoken to six contractors from references that I've gotten.
