Steps and hidden obstacles in opening your own brokerage?

Hello, I am in the middle of taking my brokers course and was wondering if anyone could give me an idea of the steps I need to take from the ground up to open my own brokerage. Also any pitfalls I should lookout for? It would be just myself and I would run it from my home office. What types of fees and taxes am I looking at? Also while im at it...I was wanting to form it as an llc... any thoughts on if that is a bad idea or should I have it organized another way? I am in Florida so any one with experience here would be greatly appreciated.
