Hi Guys ,

I am very new to real estate field and I have started learning . I am thinking of getting a real estate license in California . My question is ..even if I don't work as a real estate agent after having my license , would I still benefit after having this license? Like , I can have access to all lisitng and If i buy a property for myself I will still save some money.

I would appreciate your replies.

Thanks,

Ro

Yes! Why would you ever consider NOT getting your license. In my area, Indianapolis, being a real estate agent has not only been a great extra source of income, but being a new investor last year I had never done any deals. You really need to learn this business the right way, that is, by using contracts properly and knowing how the whole process works in your state. For me, being an agent absolutely gave me the confidence to do more and more deals. Why? Because I was already buying rental properties for other clients so I know some of the things to look for and having that experience was amazing.

My next point, is sometimes you may not always succeed in making massive amounts of money despite what everyone thinks. It takes a large sum of money (even in Indiana) to really get started with your marketing. I personally did not have thousands of dollars that I could just invest into a marketing campaign had I not made some money by representing clients in retail real estate deals. Now, being an agent has opened doors for me by introducing me other investor buyers who are now on my cash buyers list. Sure, you can do all of this without a license, but having my license really gave me the knowledge to put deals under contract and actually explain to a seller how the process works if they really do not know.

Go forth and get your license people! You will be much wiser and your pocket book will thank you in the end! You will see:)
