New licensee looking for advice on starting out

I just got my license and am looking for advice on starting out. My goals are twofold; I want to actively help others buy and sell, and I want to build a portfolio of rental property. Any advice on choosing a broker to hang my license with and tips to avoid pitfalls for a new licensee would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
