Connecting with Real Estate Agents

John Reagan Johnson

Posted

I am new to the real estate industry and am looking to connect and exchange business information with real estate agents in Nashville. I am a part of TNREIA and REIN, but I'm curious to hear if there are any other groups or events I can attend to make connections. Free events or groups are preferred, as I feel the connections made are more genuine, but I am open to anything.

If you are new I would suggest something totally different.  Go places where you can connect with potential buyers and sellers.  Think about where those people hang out and network.  Don't spend your time with other agents as a focus.  You will get plenty of that at your office sales meetings, office training, CE training, board and association training.   Typically if you attend any investor meetings about 1/2 the crowd in many groups are agents looking for business.

If you want to network, try service clubs, alumni groups, charities, religious groups, hobby groups or whatever interests you.  Meetup is a good place to look for these.  Sometimes FB.  Of course don't go there just looking for business, you go because you believe in whatever the group is doing.  Those are great places for meeting people who hopefully at some point will know, love, and trust you and will refer you business.  Always introduce yourself as ..John or maybe Reagan is better....Maybe like hi I'm Reagan like the President, your friendly neighborhood realtor....that's how they will remember you and you want them to remember you.  Follow up outside the activities to ask for business and see how you can serve them as well in their business.

Best wishes and good luck.

Bruce this is great advice thank you for sharing. I am also looking to expand my network and reach to investors in my area. John and Andreas it would be great to connect with you all, as I am in the Nashville market as well.
